LACONIA, New Hampshire — Thanks to the recent snowstorms, the trails are in good shape for New Hampshire's annual World Championship Sled Dog Derby in Laconia.

The three-day event starts Friday.

The unlimited dog race is about 15 miles long and the six-dog race is about six miles long.

Last year's event was postponed once due to a lack of good snow. In 2013, it was postponed twice and wasn't held until the beginning of March.
