PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Providence police say a Cranston man already held on gun charges also has been charged in a gang-related killing last fall in Providence.

Providence police Maj. David Lapatin tells The Providence Journal (http://bit.ly/1N2G87Y) that 20-year-old Tevin Briggs is accused in the Oct. 22 shooting of 22-year-old Terry Robinson. Briggs is held without bail since his arraignment Monday on the murder charge and 11 firearms charges. It's not immediately known who is representing him.

Lapatin said police are continuing to investigate Robinson's killing.

Robinson was shot minutes after attending the arraignment of a man charged in another gang-related killing last July. Police said that victim was mistakenly shot by someone targeting members of a rival gang.

Robinson had survived a shooting outside a nightclub in September.
