North Florida teen, 17, arrested after shooting 14-year-old while 'playing around' with guns

BELLEVIEW, Florida — A Florida teenager faces manslaughter charges after shooting a 14-year-old boy while they were "playing around" with guns.

The shooting happened Wednesday at a home in Belleview near Ocala.

Marion County Sheriff's deputies say the 17-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday night and taken to a juvenile detention center.

He told investigators that the younger boy pointed a shotgun and pointed it at him. So, he says he pointed a 9 mm handgun at the younger boy and accidentally fired.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he died.
