NEWNAN, Georgia — Authorities in western Georgia say about a dozen middle and high school students have been hospitalized in a bus crash.

Coweta County Schools Spokesman Dean Jackson says the students are being examined at a hospital in Newnan after the Thursday morning crash.

Authorities say the crash involved a school bus and two passenger vehicles. None of the students are believed to be seriously injured.

Georgia Department of Public Safety officials say it appears that a vehicle failed to yield while making a left turn. An SUV swerved to avoid hitting the car and instead hit the school bus head-on.
