Gulfport children's museum receives grant from Emeril Lagasse Foundation

GULFPORT, Mississippi — A $60,000 grant from the Emeril Lagasse Foundation will help the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center take another step toward having a professional theater on its grounds.

Lagasse, who recently was named the 2013 James Beard Foundation's "Humanitarian of the Year," made the gift to the Gulfport museum to enhance the acoustical components of the theater.

Cindy DeFrances, Lynn Meadows executive director, tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/YO3QfP ) it is through Lagasse's support and that of other community partners that improvements can be made on the grounds.
