NEW YORK — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the New York metropolitan area.

Monday morning's commute calls for a mix of freezing rain and snow.

The mixture could cause some hazardous travel conditions especially on untreated roads and sidewalks.

Some areas could see an inch of snow.

The wintry mix is expected to turn to all rain by late Monday morning.

Temperatures will warm up to the upper 30s by afternoon.

Some schools in New York's northern suburbs have issued two-hour delays.

Tuesday's forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the 20s.
