LARAMIE, Wyoming — A website that provides information about colleges around the country ranks the University of Wyoming Geological Museum 12th on its list of the "50 Most Amazing College Museums."
Among the factors considered by CollegeRank.net's ranking are public access; past, current and planned exhibits; architecture; history; and campus integration and support.
The site describes the UW museum as a "hotbed of paleontology." It says individual and family visitors will be struck by the unique dinosaur fossils on display at the facility.
It also cites the excellent guided tours and a free admission policy.
The UW Geological Museum features a variety of displays to illustrate Wyoming's past environments, highlighted by a 75-foot Apatosaurus skeleton and a display of the most complete Allosaurus fossil ever found.
