New president of Coconino Community College in Flagstaff to start job in February

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — The next president of Coconino Community College will take over in February.

Colleen Smith is leaving her job at Collin College in McKinney, Texas, to oversee the Flagstaff-based college that serves more than 7,500 students.

The school's governing board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a contract with Smith.

She'll replace Leah Bornstein, who left the position in July for another job in Colorado.

Veronica Hipolito, the dean of Student Services, is serving as the school's interim president until Smith arrives.

Coconino Community College has two campuses in Flagstaff and serves a large American Indian population.
