Body of missing northern New York man found in woods; police say foul play not suspected

PLATTSBURGH, New York — State police say the body of man reported missing earlier this month has been found in the woods in northern New York.

Troopers say officers with the city of Plattsburgh Police Department located the body late Wednesday morning off Rugar Street in the town of Plattsburgh. State police the body has been tentatively identified as 36-year-old Cherokee Styles of Plattsburgh, who was reported missing Feb. 14.

The state police Forensic Identification Unit responded to assist with the recovery and processing of the body. An autopsy is scheduled Thursday at the University of Vermont Health Network in Plattsburgh.

Troopers say the preliminary investigation doesn't indicate any signs of foul play in the man's death.
