SAN DIEGO — Brandon Clark scored 22 points, including 5 of 6 free throw attempts in the final minute, to lead Santa Clara to a 68-62 win at San Diego Saturday night.
Clark broke a 52-52 tie by drilling a 3-pointer with under seven minutes to play to give the Broncos the lead for good in a back-and-forth contest. Jared Brownridge followed with a 3 about a minute later and Nate Kratch delivered a 3 with under three minutes left.
Clark was 7 of 15 from the field and 4 of 6 from long range in leading Santa Clara (11-15, 4-9 West Coast Conference), with Brownridge adding 17.
The Toreros shot 37.7 percent from the field (20 of 53) and 18 of 29 (62.1 percent) from the free throw line.
