WEST MEMPHIS, Arkansas — Authorities say eastbound traffic is shut down on Interstate 40 in West Memphis after a fiery, multivehicle crash.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the interstate is closed at the 276 mile marker because of the crash. Traffic is being diverted onto U.S. 70. Officials say the delay is expected to last several hours Wednesday afternoon as crews clear the wreckage.

About a half-dozen vehicles were involved in the wreck, including tractor-trailers.
