Man living in motorhome in western South Dakota injured in fire; several pets die in blaze


CENTRAL CITY, South Dakota — A man living in a motorhome at a home near Central City was injured in a fire that destroyed his recreational vehicle, several other vehicles and a garage.

The Black Hills Pioneer reports ( ) that several pets also died in the Monday morning blaze that sent Doug Baldwin to a Rapid City hospital with unknown injuries.

The 17-year-old daughter of the family who owned the home pulled Baldwin from the smoke-filled motorhome.

There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.

Central City is in western South Dakota, near Spearfish.
