SALT LAKE CITY — A pedestrian has died of injuries after being struck by a car on a dark street in Pleasant Grove.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1jCoqGF ) that doctors pronounced the man dead early on Sunday, a day after the accident. The man's name was being withheld by police.
Authorities say the pedestrian narrowly avoided getting hit by traffic twice before the same night, and may have been intoxicated. They say he crossed a road without using a crosswalk or waiting for traffic lights to clear the way.
Police Chief Scott Jackson says no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
Pleasant Grove is 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.
