US Fish and Wildlife again rejects endangered species listing for Arizona bald eagles

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has again decided that bald eagles in Arizona don't merit protection under the Endangered Species Act.

Fish and Wildlife says it decided that while the so-called "desert nesting" bald eagles in Arizona are distinct from other bald eagles, they're not significant enough to merit listing.

Friday's decision came in response to a November ruling by a federal judge, who ordered a new review after environmentalists sued.
