Central Ky. woman accused of killing toddler she was baby-sitting pleads not guilty

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — A central Kentucky woman accused of fatally injuring a 2-year-old girl she was baby-sitting has pleaded not guilty.

WAVE-TV (http://bit.ly/I3NJPz ) reports the court appearance Tuesday in Hardin County Circuit Court was the first for 28-year-old Ashley Chapman since she was indicted on a murder charge last month.

She is charged in the death in January of Layla M. Johnson at Chapman's home in Vine Grove.

The toddler's family was in the courtroom for the hearing but had nothing to say afterward.
