Redeker rushed for 3 TDs as Olpe beats Ell-Saline 26-24 for Class 2-1A Championship

HAYS, Kansas — Senior back Dylan Redeker rushed for three touchdowns as Olpe fended off Ell-Saline 26-24 in Kansas' Class 2-1A Championship on Saturday.

The Cardinals (9-4) came within range of tying the game with 26 seconds remaining when Dakota Came scored on a 7-yard run. But Olpe (12-1) scuttled that two-point conversion attempt and another minutes earlier to secure the win.

Olpe ended the first half 13-12 and maintained a narrow lead throughout. Redeker scored on 1, 2 and 13 yard runs while senior quarterback Bo Krueger ran 1 yard for another TD.

Ell-Saline quarterback Luiz Arceo had 8- and 13-yard scoring passes to Garret Jacobson, while Cody Walters added a 1 yard rushing TD.

Olpe finished with 331 yards of total offense to 249 for the Cardinals.
