ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — Police say private security guards fatally shot an armed man at a St. Petersburg food market.

The shooting happened early Tuesday at the Obama Express Food Market.

St. Petersburg police say the man had been arguing outside the store around 3:30 a.m. He walked inside and the security guards asked him to leave. He refused.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/1EJbYjX ) reports the man apparently took out a gun and the guards opened fire.
