27-year-old Elkhart man killed in early morning shooting in downtown South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Indiana — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in downtown South Bend that left another man injured.

Police have identified the victim as Justin Sharpe of Elkhart. The shooting occurred about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Police say a 31-year-old man who was a passenger in the SUV Sharpe was driving was grazed in the shoulder by a bullet, treated at a hospital and released. Sharpe's body was found in the SUV parked in a gas station parking lot.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
