Arizona Snowbowl to wrap up winter season after 122 consecutive days in operation

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — Skiers and snowboarders have little time left to hit the slopes at Arizona Snowbowl.

The resort is wrapping up its season Sunday after 122 consecutive days.

Snowbowl marketing director Jason Stratton says visitation numbers are expected to top the average 120,000 for the season.

The numbers would have been dismal if not for snowmaking. The resort received about 100 inches of natural snow since it opened in November. The average is 260 inches.

The ski area's website reported a settled base depth of 39 inches of snow Thursday with 65 percent of the terrain open for skiing and snowboarding.
