BILLINGS, Montana — A Billings man has pleaded guilty to the Christmas Day 2012 shooting death of his wife's lover.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1l7W49P ) 42-year-old David Bruce Isaacson pleaded guilty Thursday to mitigated deliberate homicide in the death of 34-year-old Sabah Mallak.
Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend Isaacson be sentenced to 40 years in prison with 10 suspended.
Police responding to reports of gunfire at 1 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2012, found Mallak lying in the snow near his car, which had crashed through a fence.
Court records say Isaacson became angry when his wife left to meet Mallak, grabbed a pistol and followed them, leading to the confrontation.
Isaacson also pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence for trying to dispose of the gun, driving over the area where Mallak was shot and washing his hands.
