ELON, North Carolina — Brian Sullivan scored 26 points and De'Mon Brooks added 24 as Davidson was all business in closing out its third straight and 23rd overall Southern Conference regular-season title with an 86-69 pasting of Elon Saturday night.
Elon was the only team to defeat Davidson (19-11, 15-1) in conference this season.
The Wildcats shot 62-percent from the field (31-50) and outrebounded Elon 31-21, taking the lead 2 minutes into the game on a Brooks drive and never giving it back. The lead was 10 at halftime and grew to 21 early in the second and nearly 30, 71-42, after a Sullivan 3-pointer with 10:06 to play.
Ryley Beaumont led the Phoenix (18-13, 11-5) with 19 points. Elon shot 45 percent but connected on just 23 field goals and is tied with Wofford, who beat them Friday, for third in conference.
