THESSALONIKI, Greece — PAOK's 0-0 draw against lowly Apollon Sunday dented its hopes of catching Greek league leader Olympiakos.
Apollon, which played a man short for 50 minutes, kept a clean score sheet despite PAOK's 30-4 advantage in goal attempts and 21-1 in corner kicks. Apollon goalkeeper Alexandros Tzorvas made more than a dozen good saves.
Apollon's Christos Mingas was sent off in the 40th minute with a second yellow card for an illegal tackle.
The draw allowed Olympiakos, which beat Asteras 2-0 on Saturday, to extend its lead over PAOK to eight points. Apollon shares last place with Veria, which lost 3-0 at Xanthi Sunday, and Aris, which drew 3-3 at Ergotelis Saturday.
Also, third-place Atromitos beat OFI 3-0, fourth-place Panathinaikos won 4-0 at Kalloni and Panthrakikos beat Giannena 2-0.
