CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Police in Charlotte have arrested a man in the shooting death of another man.

Fifty-one-year-old William Anthony Cagle is charged Monday with murder and possession of a gun by a felon. Cagle is being held in the Mecklenburg County jail. It was not clear if he has an attorney.

Police told local media outlets that Cagle knew 34-year-old Emery Curtis Wampler but did not release other details about his death.

Police were called to a home around 1 p.m. Monday and found Wampler dead. Police say the shooting followed an argument. Investigators recovered a gun at the scene.
