CARENCRO, Louisiana — State police say an Arnaudville woman and her 7-year-old son died and two men hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 1252.

Trooper Brooks David says 23-year-old Kristen Trimm was eastbound on Highway 1252 near Kidder Road Monday when she crossed into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into a pickup.

David said Trimm and her son, 7-year-old Branson Taylor, were pronounced dead at the scene. David says the driver of the pickup and a passenger in Trimm's car are hospitalized with severe injuries.
