ATHENS, Greece — Newly-crowned champion Olympiakos came back from being two goals down to draw 2-2 at Panionios in the Greek league on Sunday.
Costas Mitroglou and Alejandro Dominguez scored within two minutes of each other to earn Olympiakos a point, after goals by Dimitris Kolovos in the 25th and Olivier Boumale in the 56th minute for Panionios.
With two rounds left, Olympiakos is 12 points ahead of Panathinaikos, which beat Xanthi 2-0 to regain second place from PAOK, which was held to a 1-1 home draw by Giannena.
Also, Platanias beat Panetolikos 2-0, Asteras defeated Panthrakikos 2-1 and Levadiakos beat Atromitos by the same score.
Olympiakos dominated the game and the hosts' goals came against the run of play — both times on a rapid counter-attack, with first Boumale and then Kolovos providing the assist for the other's goal.
Panionios nearly took a 3-0 lead in the 63rd minute when Olympiakos goalkeeper Balasz Megyeri let a back-pass slip through his legs, but he was able to rush back and catch the ball on the line.
Mitroglou pulled one back from close range in the 66th off a cross from Omar Elabdellaoui, and Dominguez equalized after a solo run from deep in his own half.
Olympiakos tried hard for the winner and Jorge Benitez came closest in injury time, but his shot was tipped onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Nikos Papadopoulos.
