JACKSON, Mississippi — A Union County resident is going to prison for possessing child pornography.

Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release Tuesday, said 25-year-old Marvin Lloyd Lemar, of Myrtle, pleaded guilty to the charge before Judge John Gregory and was sentenced to 40 years with five to serve. Hood says Lemar also was ordered to pay $1,000 fine to the Children's Trust Fund and to register as a sex offender upon release.

Lemar was caught after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children resulted in an investigation by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit. The investigation revealed that Lemar had uploaded images of child pornography to his Flick'r account.
