11 Miami middle school students taken to hospitals after school bus crash; no serious injuries

OPA-LOCKA, Florida — Eleven middle school students were taken to four hospitals after a car rear-ended their school bus.

The crash happened Monday morning in Opa-locka.

Miami-Dade School Board spokesman John Schuster told The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/154qZ2B ) no one was seriously injured.

There were 13 students on the bus when the crash happened. It was heading to Palm Springs Middle School in Hialeah.

Officials say the children were taken to hospitals "to be checked out."
