4 students, 2 drivers treated for minor injuries after van/school bus collision on Long Island


MEDFORD, New York — Four students and two adults suffered minor injuries in a collision between a van and a school bus on Long Island.

Authorities say it occurred Thursday afternoon in Medford.

The bus was carrying 16 students from the Bellport Middle School.

Police say the accident happened when the van traveling north on County Route 101 collided with the bus going west on Southaven Avenue.

Newsday ( ) says the four students and the drivers of both vehicles were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
