Wahpeton-area retailers cautioned about counterfeit money after bogus $100 bill is passed

WAHPETON, North Dakota — The Wahpeton Breckenridge Area Chamber of Commerce is cautioning retailers about fake money after a member business received a counterfeit $100 bill.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1MsY3U1 ) police are investigating.

Chief Scott Thorsteinson says people who handle money should look for irregularities in bills and also rely on their sense of touch. He says bogus bills usually don't feel real.
