MINNEAPOLIS — Left-hander and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to a $4.5 million, one-year contract, a deal that avoids salary arbitration.

The 28-year-old was 9-5 with a 3.92 ERA last year in 23 starts and one relief appearance. He made $2,775,000.

Twins remaining in arbitration include right-handers and ; shortstop ; infielder and third baseman . Barring agreements, they will swap proposed salaries with Minnesota on Friday.
