Driver hurt in Jefferson County school bus rollover; 5 taken to hospital for observation


ST. LOUIS — A school bus accident in Jefferson County has left only the driver with minor injuries.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports ( ) that the bus from the Mapaville State School for children with disabilities overturned in a ditch on Highway Z near Hillsboro on Monday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education says that the students, a driver and a second adult working as an aide were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City for observation.

The newspaper says that only the driver suffered minor injuries and that the four children were seat-belted into wheelchairs.
