OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police have arrested a 27-year-old man on a first-degree murder complaint in the shooting death of his mother's boyfriend.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight says the shooting was reported early Tuesday at an apartment in northwest Oklahoma City. Once officers arrived, they discovered 39-year-old James Hunter dead from a gunshot wound.

Knight says police arrested Ladameon Darnell Knox in connection with the shooting. He says Hunter was the boyfriend of Knox's mother and that authorities are still investigating what led to the shooting.

Jail records do not list an attorney for Knox.
