NEW ORLEANS — Two men have been indicted for gunning down 42-year-old Juan Yacabalquiej in New Orleans this summer, in what police called a robbery gone awry.
The New Orleans Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1i1mHiS ) Jamar Armstrong and Jonathan Joseph, both 20, were each indicted Thursday by an Orleans Parish grand jury on a charge of second-degree murder for the August slaying.
Both men are also charged with three counts of armed robbery.
Police say Yacabalquiej was in the backyard of a home around 10 a.m. Aug. 3. Two men approached, one pulled a gun and fired. Yacabalquiej was hit once in the head. He died later at the hospital.
It was unclear whether the men have attorneys.
