SANTA FE, New Mexico — New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez and First Gentleman Chuck Franco are traveling to Kansas for Saturday's New Mexico-Kansas basketball game and political events.
Martinez political adviser Jay McCleskey says the governor was to give a speech Friday afternoon at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City. Kansas Governor Sam Brownback was also planning to attend.
McCleskey says Martinez will also attend a fundraiser, as well as the Lobo game on Saturday.
He says her political committee will cover the costs of her travel and she will return to New Mexico Saturday night after the game.
