Austria's Schlierenzauer wins World Cup ski jump

LILLEHAMMER, Norway — Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria didn't jump as far as home favorite Anders Fannemel but still won the World Cup ski jump on Saturday.

After a difficult start to the season, Schlierenzauer, the Olympic silver medalist posted distances of 127.5 meters and 138.5 meters for an overall score of 302.7 points.

He won by almost three points from Fannemel, who jumped 132.5 and 139.5.

Michael Hayboeck of Austria was third, more than eight points behind.
