HOUSTON — A former Houston-area teacher accused of doing a lap dance for a boy at school to celebrate his 15th birthday has been put on three years of probation.

Felicia A. Smith of Spring was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student during the February incident.

Officials with the Aldine (AHL'-deen) Independent School District removed the 42-year-old Smith from campus following her April arrest. A district statement said the instructor at Stovall Middle School was not allowed to return during the criminal investigation.

Several other students were present during the lap dance and at least one videotaped the incident on cellphone

Online records Saturday did not list Smith as employed by the school. A message left Saturday for an administrator wasn't immediately returned.
