Ethan O'Day scores 12 and Vermont beats Binghamton 64-44

BURLINGTON, Vermont — Ethan O'Day scored 12 points to lead Vermont in a balanced attack in a 64-44 win over Binghamton on Monday.

Six other players scored between seven and nine points for Vermont (10-8, 5-0 America East), which won its fifth straight. Zach McRoberts grabbed 11 rebounds and Dre Wills had five steals. The Catamounts made 21 of 23 free throw attempts and outrebounded Binghamton 38-28.

Vermont raced out to a 12-4 lead after almost six minutes behind 3-pointers from Hector Harold and Kurt Steidl. A 7-2 run at the end of the frame gave the Catamounts a 34-24 advantage at the break.

Brendan Kilpatrick's layup with 7:17 left made it 57-38 and Vermont cruised from there.

Willie Rodriguez led Binghamton (2-19, 1-5) with 12 points and seven rebounds. The Bearcats made just 16 of 47 (34 percent) field goals, including 3 of 11 (27 percent) from 3-point range.
