COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — A Colorado Springs teen has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the slayings of a Fort Carson soldier and his pregnant wife.
The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/I5X3cK ) that 18-year-old Macyo (MAK-yo) January entered the plea on Thursday.
January is accused of killing Sgt. David Dunlap and Whitney Dunlap as he burglarized the newlyweds' home in January.
David Dunlap was attached to the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, and he served in Iraq in 2007 and 2008.
If convicted, January faces up to 40 years in prison.
His trial is set for April 28.
