QUITMAN, Arkansas — An 89-year-old Quitman man was found dead at his home following a fire.

Authorities say Otis Goff was found lying in the doorway of a back door to his home after the Wednesday morning fire. Fire Chief Tim Pike told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1lyWNG4 ) that it appears Goff died of smoke inhalation.

Pike said neighbors saw the fire and Goff, but could not reach the man because of the heat.

Pike said the fire was contained to the kitchen of the home and appears to have been electrical in nature.
