70-year-old woman dies after ATV crashes into irrigation ditch in northern Colorado


FORT COLLINS, Colorado — A 70-year-old woman who crashed her all-terrain vehicle into a ditch northwest of Fort Collins has died.

Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Heather Cobler says the woman, whose name has not been released, crashed into an irrigation ditch filled with water at about noon Saturday. The Coloradoan reports ( ) she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon.

Cobler says it's unclear what caused the ATV to crash into the ditch, and the investigation is ongoing.

The crash happened in a rural area about 10 miles northeast of Livermore.
