Submarine USS Boise to return to Norfolk from 7-month deployment

NORFOLK, Virginia — The submarine USS Boise is returning to Naval Station Norfolk on Friday following a seven-month deployment.

Media outlets report that the Navy announced the Boise's homecoming on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles-class attack submarine was deployed in the area of Central Command, which spans from the Middle East to Central Asia. The Navy says the Boise visited ports in Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Greece and Spain.

The Boise has a crew of 116 sailors and 13 officers.
