Hiker injures leg, rescued from New Hampshire trail

NEW HAMPTON, New Hampshire — A team of rescuers came to the aid of a hiker from Connecticut who injured her leg on a trail in Lincoln, New Hampshire, and escorted her to safety.

Conservation officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and volunteers from the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team were called to the Falling Waters Trail in Lincoln on Friday afternoon.

Yingnan Zhao of Hartford, Connecticut, was hiking with a companion when she slipped on wet rocks and sustained injuries that hampered her ability to walk.

Rescuers were summoned and reached the injured hiker at 7:15 p.m.

Officials say there was snow and ice on the trail at higher elevations, and remind hikers to be prepared for early spring conditions.
