Clayton County man sentenced to 20 years in prison for 4 sex crime counts involving child

ELKADER, Iowa — A 64-year-old northeastern Iowa man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison sexually abusing a child.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1vsLh0S ) that Donald Spragg, of Farmersburg, had been convicted of two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of lascivious acts with a child.

According to the Clayton County Attorney's Office, the incidents that prompted the charges occurred from September 2013 to May 2013. Spragg had spent nearly a year in jail on the charges at the time of his recent sentencing.

Spragg will be under the Department of Corrections' supervision for the rest of his life after completing his prison sentence, must register as a sex offender and pay the victim restitution.
