STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania — Penn State's board is adding a new trustee to the group handling its search for the university's next president.
The board announced Friday (http://bit.ly/17PCTzd ) that first-year trustee Bill Oldsey, who is part of a group pushing for changes in how the organization operates, is joining the group that will recommend someone.
The Centre Daily Times reports the announcement drew cheers and applause from the people watching the trustees' meeting.
Penn State is looking for someone to succeed President Rodney Erickson, who plans to retire next year.
A statement issued by the school says Oldsey's appointment gives a voice to trustees elected after the search group was formed last year.
