The fire broke out around 2:45 p.m. Saturday on Court Street in Syracuse. Police say three of the 12 people in the multiple family two-story house were taken to Upstate University Hospital. One of them, a man who had been found unconscious on the second floor, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other two people, a 51-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, are expected to survive.
