Victim hit 5 times in New Orleans Irish Channel shooting Saturday

NEW ORLEANS — Witnesses say a New Orleans gunshot victim was hit by gunfire five times but still managed to hop a fence before collapsing in the back yard of a nearby house.

The Times-Picayune-Nola.com reports that (http://bit.ly/1pDi4tJ ) the Saturday morning shooting happened in New Orleans' Irish Channel neighborhood. Police reported the shooting shortly after 11 a.m.

Witnesses said the victim was 27. One man said the victim had gunshots in the leg, the upper chest, the stomach and upper arm. The man said the victim appeared to be in good condition despite the wounds.
