JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Sam Hunt scored 19 points and Marcellous Bell added 17 on Tuesday as Jacksonville beat Trinity Baptist 88-75.
Hunt scored 14 points in the second half, on 10 of 11 free-throw attempts for Jacksonville (3-4). Bell scored a game-high four 3-pointers, J.R. Holder scored 13 points and Keith McDougald added 11.
With 17 points, Darrius Jones led Trinity Baptist (1-4), playing the match as an exhibition game. Tyrell Johnson scored 15 and Charles Cooks, 13.
The lead changed hands six times in the first half until 9:35, when Bell hit a jumper that made it 17-15 and Jacksonville went on a 10-2 run and led 41-30 at halftime.
Trinity cut the lead to eight in the second half on a layup by James Warrick, but that's as close as they got. The Dolphins increased their lead to 18 at 6:49 on a dunk by Holder then cruised down the stretch.
