INKSTER, Michigan — Authorities say a 38-year-old Detroit-area man engaged in human trafficking while orchestrating an online prostitution operation.

Attorney General Bill Schuette says Jahan Satati Green of Inkster is charged with felonies including human trafficking and conducting a criminal enterprise. Schuette says Green operated in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

The attorney general's office says Green was arraigned Monday in Inkster District Court and is jailed on $500,000 bond ahead of a hearing to determine if the case goes to trial. The court says Wednesday morning he doesn't have a lawyer on record.

Schuette says his office's Human Trafficking Unit worked with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They say an online escort service started in 2006 and Green forced two young people into prostitution, arranging transportation and taking money they received.
