SPARKS, Nevada — The Nevada Highway Patrol says a man was struck and killed by a vehicle while running across a Sparks street outside a crosswalk.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation shows the pedestrian was struck Wednesday night while crossing East McCarran Boulevard from the Silver State Plaza.

They say the driver, 29-year-old Tiffany Hendrix of Fallon, stopped, called 911 and cooperated fully with the investigation. Troopers do not suspect she was impaired at the time.

The pedestrian died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

The 8:15 p.m. accident is under investigation.
