Man charged with weapons offenses after fight in house in Newark, Delaware

NEWARK, Delaware — Newark Police have arrested a man on weapons offenses after a fight in a house on Delaware Circle.

Police arrived at the house about 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Officers say they found 22-year-old Michael Chamberlin banging on the door of a home.

Authorities say Chamberlin had been the aggressor in a fight in the home and had threatened to shoot the house up.

Police say Chamberlin had a loaded Berretta 9mm handgun concealed in his in his waistband. Officers say he also had a backpack with a laptop and other items, which police said had been stolen from a car.

Chamberlin was charged with terroristic threatening, receiving stolen property and several weapons offenses.
